I started Ballet and Tap classes at 7 years of age, firstly in Colwyn Bay and later in Ruthin, North Wales. In my teens I was a member of the Contemporary Youth Dance based at Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

I undertook full time dance training at the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre where I attained the following teaching qualifications:- RAD Teaching Certificate, ISTD Associate Teacher in Ballet, Modern and National Dance.

After graduating, I worked as a professional dancer and Equity member in troupes touring in both Portugal and Japan. After this I returned to North Wales working as a freelance teacher for a number of schools before moving to Scotland to become a member of the teaching team at The Dance Bank.

In 1994 I established my own school in the East Neuk of Fife. Over the last 24 years the school has enjoyed a 100% pass rate in examinations and as the sole teacher I have produced and choreographed 10 full school productions during this time.

In more recent times I have also become involved with the local high school, Waid Academy, both as a dance tutor for holiday programmes and as a practical tutor for students studying Higher level Dance.

I have completed extensive training for Continuous Professional Development attaining the RAD Teaching Diploma, ISTD Associate Diploma in Modern Dance and Certificates in Dance Education in Ballet, Modern, Tap and National. SQA certificates in Child Development, Play-work, and First Aid.

I have also recently qualified as an instructor in Diverse Dance Mix – DDMIX Adults & Schools, a dance fitness programme developed by Darcey Bussell & Nathan Clark.

2017 became part of the teaching team for Monument Dance Centre, in Stirling.

I have over 25 years of teaching experience, I am always learning (through CPD) and I still very much enjoy my profession.
